I feel that I still have a long way to go (and my ideas change almost daily), but I love the planning process so far, and I'm hoping that scoping out these boards will help me get the feedback I need on everything. SO excited!

I've been extremely anti-wedding, however, I visited this location, loved it, saw they did weddings, liked the pics of weddings I saw they did, and loved their price... so I'm starting to plan. I've started planning before, got overwhelmed and gave up, but I've gotten further than I ever have before so that's a good sign! Oh yea, I'm also on a major budget :) A wedding itself is just not important enough for me to save and spend like crazy on, but I want to do something esp for our parents/family... OK, that's my story :) Look forward to talking to everyone!!

Mandie--- check out Glenora. Sherry Spotts (wedding coordinator) is wonderful. The location is gorgeous. The food and wine are amazing! I am having my reception there in May and we couldn't be more excited and happier with the venue.
We checked into Ventosa, but, to be honest, their wines weren't the greatest... and their price was a little steep.
There are lots of others around the finger lakes, but Glenora is definitely my favorite... I am a little biased though I guess.
Can't wait to hear where you decide to hold yours. Good luck and happy planning!

Monica! Thank you for the info. We have tasted at both before and I've heard lots of good things about Glenora. Have you ever been to Castel Grisch? Its near Watkins Glen - good wine just kind of far away from places to stay. That so far is our biggest concern. Many of our guests will be coming from out of state so we are looking for somewhere that has lodging somewhat near by.

Glenora is the way to go!! I've been there and it is beautiful, not to mention the yummy wines! The prices on their wine are pretty decent too. I didn't want to make my guests travel more than an hour for my wedding (some older) so I'm having my wedding at Running Hare Vineyard in Prince Frederick MD. But, if I lived closer, it would totally be Glenora!!
